Andrejs Ozolins Memorial Kiosk Fund
On behalf of the Finger Lakes Cycling Club, please consider making a donation today to complete the Andrejs Ozolins trailhead information kiosk on the Black Diamond Trail!
New York State Parks has designed a beautiful information kiosk at the trailhead for the Black Diamond Trail in Ithaca, and the kiosk will be a lasting tribute to former longtime Finger Lakes Cycling Club member and community organizer Andrejs Ozolins. This project will also bring visibility to the trail as a resource for all, one which has been poorly marked until now. Many of us have already donated to Andrejs's memorial fund, and all of those funds will be used for the trailhead kiosk, for the benefit of all in our community. Thank you to everyone who has previously donated to this worthy cause, and also thank you to the Friends of Stewart Park and Cayuga Ski & Cyclery for their donations, along with the Southern Tier Bicycle Club, our friends to the south. However, for those who may not have donated yet, and those who wish to help with the final push, here is an additional giving opportunity.
We have been informed that in addition to all of the previous donations, along with the anticipated NY State funding, there is still a need for several thousand more dollars in order to make this trailhead kiosk project happen. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the Finger Lakes Cycling Club is donating $1,000 toward a goal of raising at least $2,000 to be donated on behalf of the FLCC before December 31, 2020. Would you please consider making a donation today to help us achieve this goal and enjoy the use of the trailhead information kiosk in the very near future?
Special note as of December 18, 2020: While we've reached our $2000 goal, it is perfectly fine to make additional donations, as this will help ensure that all of the elements of the trailhead plan (plantings, benches, etc), as shown in the beautiful drawings on this page, will be implemented.
